Welcome to BenAlexandra.com and FunkyMonk.com.

Sorry if this site is a bit out of date or not as fleshed out as it should be.  Between running 2 companies (Trakkware & Sutemi Gear), rock climbing, and playing hockey in Boulder, I tend to have little time for my personal site...

The Early Years:
Ben Alexandra was born on August 28th, 1971 in Spring Valley, NY.  He attended Green Meadow Waldorf School from the age of 3 through graduation in 1990.

Ben was gripped with a passion for travel and for increasing his perspectives on life. He was fascinated by the peoples and cultures of all varieties of human existence. He paid his way by teaching English in Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan.  Read more about his travels.

During his freshman year he volunteered weekly in the emergency room here at St. Mary’s Hospital, as well as being the math and science representative to the Associated Student Government (ASG). He later became increasingly involved in student government, as well as playing a more active role in some of the other clubs and organizations in which he was involved. During his Sophmore year he have remained very active in student government while completing the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training at night. He volunteer at the Marillac Clinic, as well as in the ER and with the local ambulance squads.  He ran for Vice President of Student Government on a ticket with close friend David Forgues.  They ran against Joshua Penry, who was the quarterback of the football team.  After an exciting race, Ben & David lost the election by 30 votes.  Ben remained a very active member of student government until he left Mesa the following year.

Paying for College:  Ben put himself through Mesa by working as a computer consultant and website designer in a company he started called Funky Monk Consulting.  Toward the end of his education at Mesa, Ben expanded his company into a software development company specializing in interactive, database-driven websites.  He later named this company Trakkware, Inc.
